View original imageIn his New Year's message for the Year of the Eulsa (乙巳), Chairman Jung emphasized, "For our group to continue growing, it is important to actively practice new attempts that respond to changes in customers, markets, and the business ecosystem, while continuously creating drivers of growth."
He also said, "We must break away from conventional ways of working, find and apply better methods to respond to change, and create new opportunities. New attempts require the effort to abandon familiarity and bring fear of failure, but only by going through such growing pains can we achieve success."
He added, "We have created numerous large and small success cases leading the market by providing differentiated value through new changes in existing business strategies according to market changes. Let us confidently continue to build differentiated competitiveness in our existing businesses."
He also urged to accelerate the promotion of new businesses to secure future growth opportunities. Chairman Jung said, "CEOs and executives of each company must once again recognize that preparing for future growth is their greatest responsibility, and they should proactively lead new businesses based on diverse opinion gathering and swift decision-making. With active leadership from management, the speed of strategy implementation will increase, and visions that once seemed distant will become realities."

Meanwhile, Hyundai Department Store Group will hold an online opening ceremony on the first working day of the new year, January 2nd, for about 15,000 employees across all group affiliates. The ceremony will be conducted non-face-to-face through the company’s online and mobile groupware (work management program) to accommodate employees familiar with digital content. Chairman Jung’s New Year message will be shared with group employees using images and motion graphics.
