Guro-gu, Subway Line 7 Namguro Station Elevator Opening
Guro-gu announced that the new installation of elevator facilities at Namguro Station on Subway Line 7 has been completed, and operations began on the 20th.
Namguro Station on Subway Line 7 had no elevators, making it difficult for transportation-vulnerable groups such as people with disabilities, the elderly, and children to use.
In particular, when using the stairs was inconvenient, moving between the ground-level subway station exits and the underground concourse or platform required assistance from others, and there had been continuous requests for elevator installation to enable safe and convenient subway use.
Accordingly, the district has been continuously working with Seoul City and Seoul Metro to install elevators, starting construction in June 2022 and completing the elevator installation on the 20th of this month.
The elevators installed at Namguro Station this time consist of a total of three elevators, each with a capacity of 13 passengers.
Two elevators were installed inside the station to connect the underground 1st floor concourse and the underground 4th floor platform, and the remaining one installed outside connects the ground level and the underground 1st floor concourse.
On the 20th, an opening ceremony celebrating the elevator installation was held at the concourse of Namguro Station on Subway Line 7.
