Sharp Increase in Users of Gwangju Integrated Reservation Platform 'Baro Yeyak'
Around 87,000 Users This Year... Threefold Increase from Last Year
Customized Reservation Service Enhances Convenience and Promotion
Gwangju City's integrated reservation platform, 'Baro Yeyak,' has seen a surge in users this year, establishing itself as an essential tool for citizens. By offering a 'customized reservation' service, it has improved convenience and effectively promoted various local cultural and experiential programs.
According to Gwangju City on the 22nd, the number of users of 'Baro Yeyak,' which allows integrated reservations for education, cultural, and experiential programs and facility rentals operated by the city and public institutions, reached 87,214 as of November this year, more than three times higher than last year’s 26,133.
'Baro Yeyak,' established in 2020, was upgraded into the current integrated reservation platform in 2022 after reflecting citizens’ feedback about the inconvenience of having reservations and registrations scattered across multiple sites. The upgrades included expanding reservation services and enhancing search functions. 'Baro Yeyak' can be accessed through the 'Online Reservation Application' menu on Gwangju City's website or by searching for it on portal sites.
The city has also enhanced convenience by providing a 'customized reservation' service that recommends personalized programs based on age, gender, region, and individual interests. This not only eliminates the hassle of traditional reservation methods such as phone bookings, in-person visits, or using separate sites for each facility, but also serves as an effective promotional tool for various cultural and experiential programs, earning positive responses from citizens.
The number of visitors to the Baro Yeyak website increased from 99,993 in 2022 to 145,118 this year (January to November), indicating growing recognition. 'Baro Yeyak' is categorized into five sections: ▲Education & Lectures ▲Tours & Experiences ▲Facility Rentals ▲Culture & Events ▲Contests.
For Education & Lectures, users can reserve various programs operated by departments such as the Agricultural Animal Policy Division, Cultural City Creation Division, Gwangju Kimchi Town, History and Folklore Museum, and Agricultural Technology Center. Tours & Experiences include reservations for rural experiences, safety experiences, and children's activities at places like the Agricultural Technology Center, Bitgoeul National Safety Experience Center, and Sinchang-dong Mahan Relics Experience Center.
Culture & Events is linked to 'Dear My Gwangju,' Gwangju's integrated culture and arts platform, where users can book various performances and exhibitions. Since December, reservations for the 'Gwangju Citizens’ Forest Campground' in Wolchul-dong, Buk-gu, have been added, attracting continuous bookings from family campers.
Spokesperson Park Gwangseok said, “Previously, people had to visit or search individual websites to make reservations for events or facility rentals, which was inconvenient. We expect that the integrated reservation platform will improve convenience for residents.”
