The Democratic Party of Korea selected outstanding members of the National Assembly who sharply scrutinized government policies that run counter to the times and presented alternatives for the people, focusing on livelihood issues during the audit. With this award, Chairman Uh has earned the honor of being a seven-time recipient from the 20th to the current 22nd National Assembly.
Chairman Uh was recognized for his balanced and smooth management of proceedings and stable operation during the National Assembly audit.
In addition, during the audit period, he led a field-oriented audit focused on livelihood issues by visiting Rice Processing Complexes (RPCs) to stabilize rice prices and fish farms affected by high temperatures, listening to voices on-site and seeking practical measures to address damages.
Furthermore, by questioning the Ministers of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and Oceans and Fisheries, he called for the establishment of agricultural and fisheries policies to respond to climate change, innovation in the agricultural product distribution structure, and a review of the expansion of the Tariff Rate Quota (TRQ) policy, urging improvements and presenting alternatives for key issues in the agricultural and fisheries sectors.
Chairman Uh Kigoo stated, “I feel a great sense of responsibility as chairman to receive this award during such a difficult time for farmers and fishermen,” and added, “I will do my utmost to support the stable farming and fishing activities of our agricultural and fisheries workers.”
