Kakao Announces Winners of 'Brunch Book Publishing Project'... 10 Grand Prize Works Selected
Kakao's content CIC-operated content publishing platform Brunch Story announced the grand prize winners of the "12th Brunch Book Publishing Project" on the 18th.
The Brunch Book Publishing Project is a paper book publishing contest held by Brunch Story since 2015, and this year’s contest was held for two months starting in August. Notably, this edition recorded the highest number of submissions ever. About 10,500 works were submitted, an increase of approximately 20% compared to the previous edition, resulting in a competition rate exceeding 1000 to 1.
Ten publishing companies each selected one work, producing a total of ten grand prize winners. The newly established novel category focused on popular healing novels. In the comprehensive category, award-winning works emerged from various fields including practical books and essays, with two works addressing artificial intelligence (AI) trends.

The grand prize winners in the comprehensive category were ▲ The Tumultuous Life Struggles of a High School Teen Mom (Cha Ikyung, Iyagi Jangsu) ▲ The Secrets of UX Design Uncovered Through Data (LANLAN Ranran, Hanbit Media) ▲ Our Japanese Housemate (Kim Iram, Dal) ▲ Inheriting 10 Billion Won from Father-in-Law (Bae Janghun, Siwon Books) ▲ Do I Look Like Someone Who’s Into Fandom? (Comfortable Jade Kim Jiwon, RH Korea) ▲ Asking AI Humanities for Directions (Choi Jaewoon, Day One) ▲ How AI is Changing Marketing (Seo Yangsu, Gimyoungsa).
A total prize money of 50 million KRW was awarded to the winners, along with publication and marketing benefits. The winning works can be enjoyed on the official Brunch Story account and promotion page, and will also be available as paper books in July next year. Previous edition publications receive benefits such as offline book talks commemorating publication and special sales exhibitions.
