Hwaseong-si Allocates Contingency Funds to Advance Disaster Relief Payments to Farms Affected by Heavy Snowfall
Damage Scale Confirmation by the 13th for Affected Farms and Small Business Owners
Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 16th that it has allocated contingency funds to provide disaster relief payments in advance to farmers, livestock farmers, and small business owners affected by the heavy snowfall at the end of last month.
Hwaseong City experienced an average snowfall of over 40 cm during the two days from the 27th to the 28th of last month, causing road icing and facility collapses. As of the 13th, the damage reported in Hwaseong through the National Disaster Management System (NDMS) amounted to 60 million KRW for public facilities and 237.952 billion KRW for private facilities.
Accordingly, to ensure prompt recovery and stabilize residents' lives, the city decided to allocate contingency funds to provide disaster relief payments in advance, even before the confirmation of national government subsidies. The support targets are farmers, livestock farmers, and small business owners whose damage scale was confirmed through NDMS by the 13th.
In addition to the advance disaster relief payments, the city explained that it is concentrating all administrative efforts on rapid recovery by requesting additional support from the government and operating a heavy snow damage consultation center since the 9th.
