This workshop was organized to establish ways for public libraries and school libraries to cooperate organically in supporting student reading activities and to strengthen student support by sharing best practices in library management.

A total of about 120 librarian civil servants from 10 educational libraries in the province, Gyeonggi Lifelong Education Learning Center, and 25 educational support offices participated, and the workshop was held on Monday, the library's closed day, to avoid inconvenience to local residents and students.

During the workshop, to build a regional reading ecosystem environment based on reading in educational libraries and schools and to support various student reading activities, the following were conducted: ▲ Understanding Gyeonggi education policies ▲ Full-scale utilization of generative artificial intelligence in libraries ▲ Sharing the latest trends to enhance librarians' capabilities.

Additionally, case presentations from Gwacheon and Pocheon Educational Libraries were held. They shared the roles and specialized service cases of educational libraries under the themes of restructuring spaces centered on students and youth, achievements, and the future.

Kim Eun-sun, Director of Lifelong Education at the Provincial Office of Education, said, "This is an opportunity to rethink the role of librarians to cultivate students' future competencies based on reading," adding, "We will support reading activities that help students improve literacy and develop humanistic sensibility both inside and outside of school."
