Shin Young-dae, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea who was indicted on charges of manipulating primary election polls and accepting bribes, made a personal statement before the vote on the arrest motion at the plenary session held at the National Assembly on the 28th. View original imageOn the 9th, the Joint Investigation Team for National Financial Crimes at the Seoul Northern District Prosecutors' Office announced that Shin was indicted without detention on charges of bribery under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes and violations of the Public Official Election Act.
Shin is accused of receiving approximately 100 million won in money and valuables from the representative of Gunsan Citizen Development Corporation to resolve complaints related to the solar power business. He is also suspected of manipulating public opinion using multiple mobile phones during the 22nd general election district primary.
