Ministry of Education Absent from National Assembly's Current Issues Inquiry... "No Agreement Reached Between Ruling and Opposition Parties"
Lee Ju-ho, Deputy Prime Minister for Social Affairs and Minister of Education, along with other officials from the Ministry of Education, did not attend the National Assembly's urgent inquiry held on the 9th.
The Ministry of Education stated on the 9th, "We inform you that we are unable to attend due to the lack of agreement between the ruling and opposition parties on the schedule."
With ruling party lawmakers also collectively absent, only opposition party members attended the meeting that day. Kim Young-ho, Chair of the Education Committee from the Democratic Party of Korea, criticized, "Should the Deputy Prime Minister for Social Affairs, who should be actively working to resolve the confusion and stabilize national affairs, just watch and submit to the ruling party's words?" He added, "With this attitude, can we properly advance national tasks such as absolute reserved integration and AI digital textbooks that require opposition cooperation?"
