Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 9th that it held the "1st Low-Carbon Waterside Park Project Residents' Council" meeting in the mayor's office on the 6th.

View original imageThis meeting was organized to gather residents' opinions on the "Low-Carbon Waterside Park Project," which aims to environmentally improve rivers and create waterside parks that reduce carbon emissions.
The meeting was attended by experts and local residents from various fields, including the Sustainable Development Council, design professionals, and ecological river clubs, who shared their views on the project and discussed future directions.
The Low-Carbon Waterside Park Project is a river maintenance initiative promoted as a catalyst for the "Great Renovation Project of Northern Gyeonggi." Its core goal is to reduce carbon emissions and create a sustainable environment that benefits local residents. Gyeonggi Province plans to select five sites among northern Gyeonggi cities and counties and provide up to 4 billion KRW per site.
The city plans to submit the project implementation plan by the 20th, and the sites will be selected by an evaluation committee organized by Gyeonggi Province. The selected sites will undergo design and construction procedures and are scheduled to be completed by June 2026.
