On October 31, Gapyeong-gun conducted discussion and field training with 219 participants from 16 collaborative organizations and groups, including the fire station, police station, 66th Infantry Division, and volunteer fire brigade. In particular, the training enhanced effectiveness by assuming complex disasters such as inland water guided vessel accidents and large-scale water pollution, checking the response system for each situation. Accordingly, Gapyeong-gun received high evaluations for its field-centered training reflecting realistically possible disaster situations.
Governor Seo Tae-won stated, “To strengthen resident safety, one of the policies of the 8th civilian administration, we will continuously enhance disaster response capabilities and further solidify the cooperation system with related organizations,” adding, “We will establish a system capable of rapid and efficient response in the event of an actual disaster.”
