Seocho-gu Hosts 'Petmily Day' Gathering for Families Adopting Companion Dogs
6th Anniversary of Seocho Animal Love Center Opening on the 14th
Seocho-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jeon Seong-su) announced on the 9th that it will hold the ‘Petmily Day (Pet+Family)’ event, where families who have adopted companion dogs come together with love, at the 2nd-floor auditorium of the district office on the 14th.
Held to commemorate the 6th anniversary of the opening of the Seocho Animal Love Center, this event is an opportunity for families who have adopted companion dogs to gather in one place, strengthen friendships, and build bonds through mini sports games and talent shows.
The district hopes that the annually held Petmily Day event will be a joyful occasion where the bodies and minds of adopted families and their companion dogs become healthier, and a meaningful event where the happiness of adopted dogs and their families can be shared and united with love.
The Seocho Animal Love Center operates customized educational programs to foster a mature companion culture. These include life-cycle tailored education such as the ‘Puppy Class’ for socialization and etiquette training for puppies under 12 months old, and the ‘Halmeong Academy’ specialized education for senior dogs aged 7 and above (aromatherapy, diet composition, nutrition). Additionally, it offers pre- and post-adoption education, companion dog academy and fitness, walking classes and pet-logging, holiday and summer vacation care shelters, and various cultural classes such as making ID tags and companion dog supplies.
