Ministry of Employment and Labor Announces Final Notice on 112 New and Revised National Competency Standards
Development of 7 New Projects Including 'Software Supply Chain Security'
The Ministry of Employment and Labor finalized and announced on the 4th seven newly developed National Competency Standards (NCS) and 105 improved and supplemented National Competency Standards this year, reflecting the advancement of cutting-edge technology and changes in industrial sites.
National Competency Standards are systematically organized by the government according to industry sectors and levels, encompassing the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required to perform tasks in industrial workplaces. They are utilized in various ways, including education, training, qualifications for customized talent development in industrial sites, and job-centered human resource management in companies.
This year, seven job roles were developed as National Competency Standards, including 'Software (SW) Supply Chain Security' and 'Data Transaction Management,' where workforce demand is increasing due to advanced technology development, as well as future promising fields such as 'Pharmaceutical Clinical Trials' and 'Volunteer Management.'
The Ministry of Employment and Labor explained, "Especially this year, based on development proposals for National Competency Standards from related ministries such as the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the Ministry of Health and Welfare, and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, we organically collaborated with related industry associations and organizations to enhance field applicability."
To keep pace with changes in industrial sites, 105 existing National Competency Standards, including 'Security Incident Analysis and Response,' 'Artificial Intelligence Service Implementation,' and 'Smart Equipment Design,' were improved and supplemented this time.
