As the city center bustles with year-end events such as Christmas and year-end parties this month, the Korea Island Promotion Institute, local governments, organizations, and companies joined forces to bring a 'warm year-end' to the island region.
The Korea Island Promotion Institute (KIDI) announced on the 3rd that it held the year-end love-sharing event 'Pre-Christmas in Oedaldo' with island residents at the Dasom Center on Oedaldo Island in Mokpo.
The event was jointly planned by the Korea Island Promotion Institute, Mokpo City, and the Dokdo Love Movement Headquarters (a nonprofit organization) for elderly residents in the lonely island region enduring the cold winter. Companies such as BGF Retail's CU, Olbareum, Jokbal Night Market, and Morimi participated as event sponsors.
Motivated by ESG social contribution, the event proceeded in the order of ▲ one-day Christmas tree making class ▲ visiting island cultural event (singing class and recreation) ▲ delivery ceremony of food packages.
At the event, local elderly residents created their 'own Christmas trees,' and celebrity promotion team members active in the Dokdo Love Movement Headquarters, including Baek Bong-gi, Kim Wan-gi, and Romina, conducted singing classes and recreational activities. BGF Retail's CU delivered food supplies to island residents, and Kim Jeong-gwang, CEO of Olbareum, known for baby rice snacks, also participated in the donation.
Additionally, the jokbal franchise 'Jokbal Night Market' provided its popular menu items, and the makgeolli brewing agricultural corporation 'Morimi' offered makgeolli tastings.
