Guri-si, Restriction on Operation of Grade 5 Emission Vehicles
Weekday enforcement from 6 AM to 9 PM until March next year
10,000 KRW fine for violations
Guri City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun) will implement the "6th Seasonal Fine Dust Management Program" from December to March next year to strengthen fine dust control and protect citizens' health, restricting the operation of old diesel vehicles classified as Grade 5 emission vehicles.
The operation restriction enforcement hours are from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays, excluding weekends and public holidays. If a vehicle is caught operating through CCTV enforcement cameras installed on major roads, a fine of 100,000 KRW will be imposed.
However, vehicles equipped with emission reduction devices, emergency vehicles, vehicles for the disabled, national merit recipients, and among vehicles that cannot be equipped with reduction devices, those owned by basic livelihood security recipients, lower-income groups, and small business owners are exempted.
Additionally, since enforcement conditions such as operation restrictions and exemptions vary by city and province, when visiting other regions, it is essential to check the restriction conditions of the area through the "Vehicle Emission Grade System Website" or similar sources.
