Busan Veterans Affairs Office, December Memorial Facility in Busan Area 'Beomeosa'
The Busan Regional Veterans Office (Director Lee Nam-il) is promoting the selection of the ‘Memorial Facility of the Month’ for 2024 to increase interest in memorial facilities and spread a culture of honoring veterans in daily life.
The Busan Regional Veterans Office has designated Beomeosa Temple, located in Geumjeong-gu, as the Memorial Facility of the Month for December 2024.
During the Korean War, Beomeosa established a resting place for the remains of fallen soldiers in Bojeru Pavilion, and in 1952, it held a large-scale joint memorial service for the war dead and a nationwide joint military and police memorial ceremony in front of the Daeungjeon Hall courtyard.
Since then, Beomeosa has continued to serve by enshrining the memorial tablets of fallen soldiers for several years until the National Cemetery was established at Seoul National Cemetery in 1956, comforting their spirits.

The Busan Regional Veterans Office is implementing projects to establish and designate memorial facilities to spread respect and honor for those who dedicated themselves to our country, and to reflect on and inherit their noble spirit of sacrifice and contributions close to everyday life.
