Busan National University College of Pharmacy Receives Highest Grade '5-Year Accreditation' in Pharmacy Education Evaluation
Financial Support and Substantial Practical Training Excellence... Certification Maintained from 2025 to 2030
The College of Pharmacy at Pusan National University was recognized for its excellence as a pharmacy education institution by obtaining the longest certification period of "5 years certification" in the '2024 Pharmacy Education Accreditation' conducted by the Korea Institute of Pharmacy Education and Evaluation (KIPPE).
The 'Pharmacy College Accreditation' system was introduced to assess whether the basic requirements for training pharmacists are met and to grant social trust. The evaluation criteria consist of 50 essential items across eight areas: △mission and talent vision △operation △curriculum △students △faculty △educational environment and facilities △post-graduation education △continuous improvement. Pusan National University met 46 items in this evaluation and received the highest certification grade of "5 years certification" from March 2025 to February 2030.

View original imageIn particular, Pusan National University received excellent evaluations for operating substantial practical training education by securing financial support for students such as managing development funds for mid- to long-term growth and scholarship support, as well as securing dedicated faculty and staff for practical training.
Starting in 2025, according to the revised Pharmacist Act, only graduates (or expected graduates) from pharmacy colleges accredited by KIPPE will be eligible to take the national pharmacist examination. With this certification, the College of Pharmacy at Pusan National University has further solidified its position as a regional flagship national university pharmacy college with a long history of 71 years and strengthened its foundation to continuously produce talented individuals who will contribute to the local community and the advancement of pharmacy.
