Seosan City to Repair Defective Sewer Manholes by First Half of Next Year

View original imageSeosan City in South Chungcheong Province has completed a comprehensive inspection of defective manholes that have subsided or been damaged within the public sewage treatment area, in order to prevent road safety accidents.
This inspection was conducted from October to November and was implemented as part of maintenance efforts to prevent safety accidents caused by manholes opening during heavy rainfall.
Through the inspection, the city identified issues such as △height differences and subsidence around manholes △damage to road surfaces and manholes △manholes that repeatedly open during rainfall.
After the inspection, the city selected 50 locations for maintenance, and plans to carry out repairs such as repaving to eliminate height differences around manholes and replacing them with lockable manholes by the first half of next year.
Hong Geonpyo, head of the Waterworks and Sewerage Division of Seosan City, said, "We will do our best to prevent safety accidents for drivers and create a pleasant road environment by repairing defective manholes."
