Dismissal of Former Yongsan Police Chief Im Jae for Poor Response to Itaewon Disaster
Former Seoul Yongsan Police Station Chief Lee Im-jae, who was sentenced to imprisonment in the first trial for inadequate response that worsened the damage during the Itaewon disaster, has been dismissed.

View original imageAccording to the police on the 11th, Lee, who was sentenced to imprisonment, was dismissed by the Central Disciplinary Committee last month. Former Yongsan 112 Situation Room Chief Song Byung-ju was also dismissed.
Earlier, the Seoul Western District Court Criminal Division 11 (Presiding Judge Bae Seong-jung) sentenced former Chief Lee to 3 years imprisonment on charges including professional negligence causing death or injury in September. Lee appealed the court ruling.
