In particular, the city was selected with an A (highest) grade among 155 consortia participating in the public project for its commitment to spreading new and renewable energy for energy self-sufficiency, efficient management of existing facilities through a spatial information system, project completion rate for the current year, and the highest geothermal energy distribution in the metropolitan area. The national subsidy rate is also the highest among consortia at 40%.
This public project, with a total budget of 2.48 billion KRW, will support the installation of 1,285 kW of new and renewable energy generation facilities at 143 houses and buildings in Namhansanseong-myeon and Opo 1 and 2-dong (85 solar power, 52 geothermal, 6 solar thermal).
