Awarding the 32nd Busan Industrial Peace Prize... 10 Exemplary Workers and Entrepreneurs Selected

Busan City will hold the '32nd Industrial Peace Award Ceremony' at 10 a.m. on the 8th at the City Hall International Conference Hall.
Since the first ceremony was held in 1993, the 'Industrial Peace Award,' now in its 32nd year, is given to those who have contributed to industrial peace by improving labor conditions, enhancing corporate productivity, and preventing industrial accidents based on mutual trust between labor and management in the industrial field.
This year, a total of 10 recipients were selected: 8 in the Industrial Peace Award category (model workers and businesspeople) and 2 in the Industrial Peace Merit Award category (members of related organizations and groups).
The model worker awardees include ▲ Choi Pan-sik, Chairman of the DRB Labor Union ▲ Kwon Bong-seok, Branch Manager of the Samjin Branch of the Busan Regional Bus Labor Union ▲ Kim Dae-sung, Chairman of the Busan Bank Branch of the National Financial Industry Labor Union ▲ Kim Hanna, Chairman of the Busan Teachers' Labor Union, who were recognized for their contributions to labor-management coexistence and the promotion of labor-management cooperation.
In the businessperson category, ▲ Shin Jeong-hwi, Managing Director of S&LW ▲ Ok Young-du, Director of GSB Solution ▲ Park Chang-hwan, Director of Songwol Sinpyeong Factory ▲ Lee Sang-cheol, CEO of Hyundai RB were acknowledged for their contributions to family-friendly management, improvement of working environments, enhancement of worker welfare, and development of various industrial sectors.
In the merit award category, ▲ Park Geum-hee, Labor Inspector at the Busan Regional Employment and Labor Office ▲ Jeong Areum, Sergeant at the Busan Police Agency, who have worked to establish sound labor-management relations, were honored with the award.
A plaque will be presented to the awardees, and notably, model workers will receive benefits such as exemption from toll fees on Gwangandaegyo Bridge and public parking fees for three years.

Mayor Park Hyung-jun, who will preside over the ceremony, said, “Busan’s industry is undergoing a period of significant change both internally and externally, and I sincerely thank the awardees who have maintained peace in the local industry through harmony and cooperation amid these changes.” He added, “I hope all labor and management in Busan will continue to harmonize and move forward on the path of coexistence.”
