Typically, the mentee’s team leader or department head serves as the mentor.
Once designated as a mentee-mentor pair, through mentoring activities over six months such as getting to know Gwangju City, acquiring job skills, workplace etiquette, and organizational culture integration, mentors share their public service experience and work know-how to help new public officials quickly adapt to their duties and strengthen their practical capabilities within the organization, supporting the mentee’s organizational adjustment.
A Gwangju City official stated, “Through two-way communication between mentees and mentors via mentoring operations, they can understand each other, grow together, create a vibrant organizational atmosphere, and contribute to improving job performance.”
