It was established by the Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport to promote eco-friendly treatment of construction waste and high value-added resource recovery.
Recycled aggregate is a recycled product processed into construction materials by collecting, sorting, and refining waste generated at construction sites according to proper quality standards.
In the Soyang-ro 6-lane construction, 15,226㎥ of recycled aggregate was used for laying and compacting a 30cm auxiliary base layer and a 20cm frost prevention layer. Additionally, 16,372 tons of recycled asphalt concrete were used for laying and compacting a 15cm base layer. Through this, Chuncheon City saved about 214 million KRW in construction costs.
Yong Ok-hyun, Director of Urban Regeneration Division of Chuncheon City, said, “To solve various environmental problems such as increasing construction site waste and depletion of natural resources, we will continue to actively utilize recycled aggregate.”
