"Harassed Mother"... 30s Man Who Killed Father Sent to Detention
A man in his 30s who killed his father in his 70s with a blunt weapon at a multi-family house in Yeokchon-dong, Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul, has been handed over to the prosecution.
On the morning of the 7th, the Seoul Western Police Station announced that they had arrested and sent Mr. A, a man in his 30s accused of killing a family member, to the prosecution.
Mr. A is suspected of striking his father in his 70s with a blunt weapon at their home on the 27th of last month, causing his death. On the 31st of the same month, he attempted an extreme act with his mother but failed and surrendered to the police.
During the police investigation, Mr. A reportedly stated, "My father had been abusing my mother through domestic violence." It was confirmed that the deceased father had a history of being booked for threatening and assaulting his son in 2017 and 2021. The police believe it is unlikely that Mr. A was under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the crime.

The police urgently arrested Mr. A on the 1st of this month and applied for an arrest warrant. On the following day, the Seoul Western District Court issued the warrant, citing "risk of flight."
