Damyang-gun Expands Eligibility for 'Multi-Child Family Diaper Support' Program
"From 3 Children to 2 or More... Easing Economic Burden"
Damyang County (Governor Lee Byeong-no) announced on the 4th that it will expand the diaper support program for families with multiple children in the jurisdiction.
Through the revised Population Increase Ordinance in April this year, Damyang County decided to reduce the economic burden on families with multiple children by expanding the existing support target from families with three or more children to those with two or more children.
Diaper support is provided in the form of vouchers (National Happiness Card) worth 90,000 KRW per month for three-month periods. Applications must be made by the day before the child turns two years old, and support is provided based on the application date. If applied within 60 days (including the birth date) from the date of birth, support can be received for the full 24 months.
Applications can be submitted by visiting the town or township office or health center after registering the infant’s birth and submitting the required documents. Online applications are also available if visiting in person is difficult.

A county official stated, “The central government is also expanding support policies for families with multiple children to address the complex issues such as economic, educational, and welfare challenges they face,” adding, “Damyang County will also implement various policies to overcome low birth rates and create a happy Damyang that is a great place to raise children.”
