Busan Transportation Corporation announced on the 4th that it evaluated the technical capabilities of its employees from October 29 to 31 to ensure the safe operation of the Busan Urban Railway.
The corporation holds an annual technical competition and research presentation to enhance employees' ability to respond quickly and their technical skills in preparation for accidents and malfunctions that may occur during urban railway operations. Nine job categories related to train operation, including control, crew, vehicles, electrical, mechanical environment, signaling, communication, electronics, and facilities, all participate.

View original imageThis year's technical competition involved 20 teams from five fields: crew, electrical, signaling, communication, and facilities, competing in railway safety accident response capabilities. Employees contributed to building a safe Busan Urban Railway system by demonstrating emergency recovery training assuming rail damage situations and training for establishing a real-time video transmission system at disaster accident sites due to communication equipment failures.
At the research presentation, 31 teams from nine fields?control, crew, vehicles, electrical, mechanical environment, signaling, communication, electronics, and facilities?participated, introducing research and development cases for the advancement of the corporation and the railway industry, such as a study on inspecting overhead line supports using drones.
In particular, a project that improved the maintenance management method of the main air compressor of Line 2 electric trains, reducing parts purchase costs, received great attention. It is expected that the 31 projects presented at this research presentation will save a budget of 450 million KRW, and the highly praised research and development cases will be actively utilized in the field.
