Wando-gun Expands Support for Dementia Treatment and Management Costs
Change of Income Criteria from Over 120% to 140% or Less
Wando County announced on the 31st that it will implement the ‘Expanded Dementia Treatment Management Expense Support Project,’ which extends support to those whose income exceeds 120% but is within 140% of the standard.
The Expanded Dementia Treatment Management Expense Support Project is being promoted to strengthen dementia care in the community and reduce the economic burden on families of dementia patients.
Through this project, the county plans to provide up to 30,000 KRW per month (360,000 KRW annually) for dementia medication costs and medical expenses co-payments covered by insurance benefits for dementia treatment management.
Eligible recipients must register as dementia patients at the Wando County Dementia Safety Center, confirm their eligibility, and submit related documents such as receipts for medication costs containing dementia treatment ingredients.
Wando County expects that the number of beneficiaries receiving support through the Expanded Dementia Treatment Management Expense Support Project will increase beyond the current level.
