View original imageThe Korean Society for Artificial Intelligence and Law announced on the 22nd that Professor Choi Kyung-jin of Gachon University College of Law has been elected as the 5th president.
President Choi will serve a consecutive term following his 4th term. This term will run from December 23, 2024, to December 22, 2026.
The Society for Artificial Intelligence and Law is an academic society that researches laws, systems, and ethical issues related to artificial intelligence (AI) and seeks necessary policy responses.
President Choi is a licensed attorney in New York State, holds a master's degree from Duke University School of Law, and a Ph.D. in law from Sungkyunkwan University. He also served as president of the Society for Privacy Law.
He is currently actively engaged as the Korean government representative to the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) and as Korea’s representative to the OECD expert groups on AI, data, and privacy.

President Choi stated, "I will strive to establish this society as the foremost academic organization that discusses the essential legal and institutional foundations for AI to coexist with humanity and improve the quality of human life."
