The British Foreign Office said it has not disclosed the name of the deceased citizen but is supporting the bereaved family in Spain and is in contact with local authorities. The Castilla-La Mancha Bridge, where the accident occurred, was opened in 2011 and is the highest cable-stayed bridge in Spain, spanning the Tagus River. The structure of this 192-meter-high bridge consists of a concrete main tower with multiple cables arranged in a triangular shape at the center.
