Goyang-si Ilsandong-gu Imposes 6.7 Billion KRW Traffic Inducement Charges for 2024
Over 5,600 Cases... Payment Period from 16th to 31st
Ilsandong-gu, Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province, announced on the 7th that it has imposed approximately 6.78 billion KRW in traffic inducement charges for about 5,600 cases in 2024.
The traffic inducement charge is imposed on owners of facilities with a total floor area of 1,000㎡ or more (for individual ownership areas of 160㎡ or more in collective buildings) that cause traffic congestion, according to Article 36 of the Urban Traffic Readjustment Promotion Act.
The charge period is from August 1 of the previous year to July 31 of the current year, and the charge is imposed annually in October on the owner as of the base date (July 31, 2024). The funds are used for the expansion and operational improvement of traffic facilities, urban traffic-related surveys, and research projects.
The payment period is from the 16th of this month to October 31. Payments can be conveniently made through Wetax ▲ ARS payment ▲ virtual account transfer ▲ bank utility payment machines. A maximum surcharge of 3% will be applied if payment is made after the deadline.
Meanwhile, payers who have reasons for reduction during the charge period, such as ▲ using officetels for residential purposes ▲ non-use of facilities for more than 30 days ▲ prorated calculation due to ownership changes, can submit a reduction application form and supporting documents to the Traffic Administration Division of Ilsandong-gu to receive a reduction in the traffic inducement charge.

Residential use declarations must be made within 20 days from the date of receiving the payment notice, vacancy declarations within 30 days, and prorated calculation declarations for ownership changes within 10 days from the date of receiving the payment notice.
