Uijeongbu-si Conducts 'Digital Sex Crime Prevention Education' for Citizens
Uijeongbu City has been promoting 'Violence Prevention Education for Citizens on the Move' since April.
Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) has been promoting the "Violence Prevention Education for Citizens" program since April to improve citizens' healthy sexual values and raise awareness about violence.
This year, three organizations, including the Uijeongbu Community Education Council, were selected as entrusted institutions for violence prevention education, conducting prevention education on serious social issues such as sexual harassment, sexual violence, domestic violence, prostitution, and electronic (digital) sex crimes using advanced AI-based manipulation technology (deepfake).
Recently, prevention education on electronic (digital) sex crimes using advanced AI-based manipulation technology (deepfake) was conducted for 4th-grade elementary school students by instructors Kim Min-ja and Kim Jeong-ju.
One student who participated in the education said, "I learned that actions done as a joke can become crimes," and added, "It was a valuable time to understand behaviors that should not be done."

Mayor Kim Dong-geun stated, "Crimes using social networking services (SNS) have been rampant recently," and added, "We will strive to prevent and eradicate various sex crimes through the visiting violence prevention education for citizens."
