On the 4th, Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun visited the Korea-US Combined Forces Command in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, for the first time since his inauguration and ordered a strong Korea-US combined defense posture.
According to the Ministry of National Defense, on that day, Minister Kim received a mission briefing from Commander Paul LaCamera at the Combined Forces Command and emphasized the need to further strengthen the defense posture so that the enemy does not dare to provoke.
Minister Kim said, "There is no mercy for enemies threatening the Republic of Korea," and warned that if North Korea provokes, it will face "an overwhelming allied response based on a strong combined defense posture and the 'fight tonight' readiness."
Regarding the newly established Korea Strategic Command, he said it will be a key strategic unit for the concrete implementation of 'Korea-US integrated extended deterrence' and urged close cooperation with the Combined Forces Command.

He also stated that combined exercises and training must be strengthened to maintain a strong combined defense posture against evolving North Korean threats such as hybrid warfare, cyber, space, and electronic warfare, as well as future battlefield environments.
