Seongdong-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jeong Won-oh) announced the completion of the 'Seongsu-ilro North End Pedestrian Environment Improvement Project' aimed at improving walking inconveniences and creating a safe and pleasant pedestrian walkway.
The sidewalks installed at the north end of Seongsu-ilro were severely aged and damaged, causing inconvenience to residents' walking, and with the recent rapid increase in visitors to Seongsu-dong, maintenance became even more necessary.
Accordingly, Seongdong-gu secured 263 million KRW and started the pedestrian environment improvement construction in April, completing the comprehensive maintenance of the aged and damaged sidewalks in the section from Seongsu-ilro 84 to 112 in September.
Additionally, the pedestrian environment was improved by minimizing level differences at crosswalks and connecting tactile paving blocks without any missing sections, allowing vulnerable pedestrians to walk safely.
