Trend Tailored to You... Naver Launches 'Shortents' Created with Generative AI
Naver announced on the 27th that it will launch 'Shortents,' a content recommendation service utilizing generative artificial intelligence (AI).
Shortents is a short-form search content service based on Naver's large language model (LLM) 'HyperCLOVA X.' It analyzes the latest popular documents to extract key topics and then provides summarized information along with related content. HyperCLOVA X analyzes popular content and generates appropriate keywords. It categorizes content by topic and delivers it according to individual preferences.
Shortents is offered mainly around life topics such as sports, broadcasting, travel, fashion, and cooking. For example, when a user searches for baseball-related topics, a 'Baseball Shortents to Watch Together' section appears at the bottom of the search results; when searching for travel-related topics, a 'Travel Shortents to Watch Together' section is displayed. Users can view recommended keywords and image thumbnails composed of the core content of popular content summarized by generative AI related to the searched topic.
In the future, Naver plans to expand Shortents to cover a wider range of topics such as beauty and gaming. By combining various multimedia formats like images and short-form videos with text, it will enhance visibility in a more immersive way. Additionally, Naver will refine personalized recommendation technology to help users discover content tailored to their individual tastes related to their preferred topics.
