President Yoon: "Team 'Chekoria', Let's Achieve a Nuclear Renaissance Together"
Keynote Speech at the Korea-Czech Business Forum
During his official visit to the Czech Republic, President Yoon Suk-yeol said on the 20th (local time), "Now, let's move beyond 'Team Korea' to become 'Team Czech-Korea' and achieve a 'nuclear power renaissance' together."

View original imageIn his keynote speech at the 'Korea-Czech Business Forum' jointly hosted by the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Czech Chamber of Commerce, and the Czech Industrial Association, President Yoon stated, "In July, Team Korea was selected as the preferred negotiator for the new nuclear power plant construction project in the Czech Republic, which was joyful news." He added, "We must leverage the momentum of cooperation in the nuclear power sector to the entire industry," and announced, "The two governments will sign a 'Trade and Investment Promotion Framework (TIPF)' to institutionally support comprehensive cooperation across industries."
President Yoon also said, "We will discuss major cooperative projects through the Supply Chain and Energy Dialogue (SCED) between the two countries," and pledged to establish a cooperative foundation in advanced industries such as batteries, future vehicles, and hydrogen. Furthermore, he emphasized, "Aerospace, Bio, advanced Chemistry and materials, Digital, and Energy have emerged as promising fields for cooperation between research institutes of both countries," and added, "With the 'ABCDE' of Korea-Czech scientific and technological cooperation established, we will actively support joint research and human exchange between the two countries." In the transportation infrastructure sector, he urged, "I hope Korean companies, which have built a reputation for being 'fast and safe,' will contribute to the future construction and operation of Czech high-speed railways."

President Yoon encouraged the businesspeople who have led the development of bilateral relations, saying, "Even before Korea and the Czech Republic established diplomatic relations, the 'Korea-Czech Economic Cooperation Committee' was launched in 1989, initiating exchanges between the economic sectors of both countries. Now, 35 years later, Korean and Czech engineers are jointly manufacturing Hyundai Motor vehicles in Nosovice, Czech Republic, exporting to 74 countries."

The forum was attended by Choi Tae-won, Chairman of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Lee Jae-yong, Chairman of Samsung Electronics; Chung Eui-sun, Chairman of Hyundai Motor Group; Koo Kwang-mo, Chairman of LG; and Chang In-hwa, Chairman of POSCO Group. This was the first time this year that the heads of Korea's four major conglomerates accompanied the president on a state visit. On the Czech side, President Petr Pavel, Zde Zajicek, Chairman of the Czech Chamber of Commerce, Jan Rafaj, Chairman of the Czech Industrial Association, and Petr Novotny, CEO of ?koda Group, were present.
