Incheon Namdong-gu Installs Solar-Powered LED Building Number Plates in Alleyways and Public Restrooms
Namdong-gu, Incheon recently announced on the 20th that it has installed solar-powered LED sensor-type building number plates at two women’s safety return paths in residential areas, 60 buildings, and 68 outdoor public restrooms.
Since 2021, the district has been installing road nameplates and building number plates illuminated by solar-powered LEDs along women’s safety return paths to create a safe residential environment.

In particular, this year, they installed 'solar-powered LED sensor-type building number plates' that softly glow with phosphorescent material under normal conditions and brighten the LED lights when a person approaches, detected by sensors.
Additionally, the installation targets, which had been mainly focused on residential areas, were expanded to assign building numbers and install solar-powered LED sensor-type building number plates on 68 outdoor public restrooms located independently in parks and sports facilities. This is the first implementation among basic local governments in the Incheon area.

Park Jonghyo, the district mayor, said, "We expect that residents will be able to easily find public restrooms during outdoor activities and that it will help quickly identify locations in case of emergencies."
