On the 12th, a video titled "A car parked at a highway rest area, sweating profusely wearing only underwear?" was posted on the YouTube channel 'Korea National Police Agency.' Recently, the police received a report stating, "It seems the driver of a vehicle parked at a highway rest area took drugs." When the police arrived at the scene to check the suspect, he was soaked in sweat, wearing only a short-sleeved undershirt and underwear. Moreover, he was exhibiting abnormal behavior such as shaking his body back and forth and side to side.
Suspecting drug use, the police searched the inside of the vehicle and the trunk with the suspect's consent. However, no evidence of drugs, syringes, or other criminal items was found. He was not intoxicated, and a background check showed he was not a wanted person. Seeing that the suspect did not appear to be in good condition, the police asked, "Can you drive yourself?" He replied that he could, but to prevent any possible accidents, the police agreed to escort drive him.
However, the vehicle continued to cross the center line, creating dangerous situations. Eventually, the police instructed him to stop on the shoulder and asked again if he could drive, emphasizing the need for safe driving. Nevertheless, the suspect got back in the car and continued to stagger while driving dangerously. He even nearly caused a single-vehicle collision on a curved road. Unable to tolerate this, the police stopped the vehicle again and, considering his sweating condition, unfocused eyes, and body shaking, suspected that he might have already taken drugs before getting behind the wheel. After persistent questioning, he finally admitted to having been punished for methamphetamine use. He accompanied the police for a drug screening test, but upon arriving at the police station, he firmly refused the test and was consequently arrested. The suspect tested positive for drugs in his urine and is currently under detention and investigation.
