Busan Port Authority Achieves ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and ISO 30301 Records Management System Certifications
Efforts to Successfully Establish an International Standard-Compliant Management System Recognized
Busan Port Authority (BPA) held a ceremony to receive certifications for ISO 14001, the international standard for environmental management systems by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), and ISO 30301, the international standard for records management systems, from the Korea Management Registrar (KMR).

View original imageFirst, obtaining the ISO 14001 certification is a testament to Busan Port Authority's successful establishment of a management system that meets international standards for environmental management.
BPA was recognized for its efforts to comply with environmental regulations and continuously improve environmental performance by establishing mid- to long-term plans and setting and implementing phased tasks. Through this, BPA has established itself as a more trustworthy public institution to the local community and the public.
With the acquisition of these international standard certifications, Busan Port Authority plans to continue minimizing environmental impact and implementing various policies to reduce carbon emissions through ongoing improvement and optimization of its environmental management system.
Furthermore, by obtaining ISO 30301 certification, Busan Port Authority has been officially recognized for successfully establishing a records management system that meets international management system standards.
Busan Port Authority was awarded a commendation from the Minister of the Interior and Safety in 2023 for being the first public enterprise to establish a records management system that connects the entire process from creation to classification and storage of various records.
Kang Junseok, President of BPA, stated, "With these certifications, we will continue to improve our systems to meet international standards, realize an eco-friendly port, and build a transparent administrative system, so that we can continue to grow as a leading port authority recognized both domestically and internationally."
