"Expand Science and Technology Cooperation Triggered by Nuclear Power Export" Yu Sang-im, Science and Technology, Meeting with Czech Security Advisor
The Ministry of Science and ICT announced that Minister Yu Sang-im met with Tom?? Pojar, the National Security Advisor of the Czech Republic, on the 5th to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation in science, technology, and information and communication technology (ICT).

View original imageThe Ministry of Science and ICT conveyed that both countries agreed on the necessity of holding the 5th Korea-Czech Joint Committee on Science and Technology as soon as possible to elevate their scientific and technological cooperation to the next level, leveraging the export of nuclear power plants. The two countries signed a science and technology cooperation agreement in 1995 and expanded their cooperation scope by signing an MOU in the ICT sector in 2015. Since 2017, they have supported exchanges and cooperation among researchers in biotechnology and chemical/materials fields.
Minister Yu said, "This meeting is very meaningful as it is the first face-to-face meeting with a foreign country since I took office as Minister of Science and ICT," and added, "I look forward to holding the Joint Committee on Science and Technology soon to practically discuss ways to expand scientific and technological cooperation between the two countries."

Advisor Pojar is visiting Korea as a special envoy of the Czech Prime Minister to review and coordinate key ministries and performance projects ahead of President Yoon Suk-yeol's scheduled visit to the Czech Republic this month.
