Financial Investment Association Chairman Seo Yuseok Joins the 'ByeBye Plastic Challenge'
Seo Yu-seok, Chairman of the Korea Financial Investment Association, participated in the "Bye Bye Plastic" challenge on September 5 to reduce the use of disposable plastics in daily life and encourage the use of eco-friendly products.
The Bye Bye Plastic challenge is a nationwide relay campaign initiated by the Ministry of Environment in August last year to reduce disposable plastic use and create a sustainable environment.
Chairman Seo said, "ESG management is an essential element for the sustainable development of the financial investment industry," adding, "Starting with small daily practices for environmental protection, we will continue to strive to create an atmosphere where the financial investment industry leads ESG management."
The Korea Financial Investment Association is also expected to strengthen its ESG management efforts.
Chairman Seo's participation in this challenge was prompted by a nomination from Kim Sang-tae, CEO of Shinhan Investment Corp. Seo then nominated Kim Jeong-gak, President of Korea Securities Finance Corporation, as the next participant.
The challenge is significant in highlighting that the financial investment industry is taking the lead in practicing ESG management in daily life and fulfilling its social responsibility for environmental protection.
