Next Year, 1,870 KATUSA Soldiers to Be Publicly Selected... Competition Rate 6.8 to 1
On the 3rd, the Military Manpower Administration announced that it publicly selected 1,870 KATUSA (Korean Augmentation To the United States Army) soldiers who will enlist next year through a computerized lottery at the Government Daejeon Complex. This year, a total of 12,715 applicants applied for the KATUSA recruitment, showing a competition rate of 6.8 to 1.
On the afternoon of the 3rd, at the Military Manpower Administration in the Government Daejeon Complex, Seo-gu, Daejeon, during the '2025 KATUSA Public Selection for Enlistment Candidates' event, the person drawing the initial random number is picking a ball with the initial number on it.

The monthly competition rate based on the enlistment period next year was highest in January at 9.4 to 1, and lowest in November and December at 5.5 to 1.
The selection results will be published on the Military Manpower Administration website, and successful candidates will be individually notified.

Those selected will enlist at the Army Training Center, undergo 5 weeks of basic military training, complete 3 weeks of training at the KATUSA Training Academy (KTA), and then be assigned to major U.S. military units stationed in Korea.
