A veteran trainer was bitten on the arm by a tiger at a zoo in Australia.
According to a BBC report on the 2nd, a trainer was attacked by a tiger and hospitalized at the theme park "Dreamworld" located in Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. A female trainer in her 40s, identified as Ms. A, who worked there, was injured on her arm when the tiger she was caring for charged at her at around 9:01 a.m. local time on the 2nd. She was immediately transported to Gold Coast University Hospital and received treatment. Queensland Ambulance stated, "She was very pale at the time but overall in good health, so transport was possible," and added, "She sustained wounds on the attacked area but is currently in a stable condition."
The injured trainer was confirmed to be one of the most experienced and seasoned staff members at Dreamworld. The management described the incident as "an extremely rare occurrence" and said they would "thoroughly investigate the circumstances." Previously, in 2011, a male Bengal tiger named "Kato" (then 9 years old) living there had also attacked two trainers.
