Gangnam-gu to Hold Maintenance Project Academy on the 4th of Next Month... Special Lecture on Public Support Systems
Gangnam-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jo Seong-myeong) will hold the 3rd Reconstruction Maintenance Project Academy for about 300 residents at the district community center auditorium on the 4th of next month from 2 to 4 PM. In this session, Associate Professor Kim Byung-chun from Seokyeong University will explain the public support system for reconstruction projects.
The public support system under Article 118 of the "Act on Maintenance and Improvement of Urban Areas and Dwelling Conditions" is a system where public authorities support the management of the project progress from the planning stage to the completion of housing maintenance projects.
The district mayor of the relevant maintenance area acts as the public supporter, helping residents make major decisions in the maintenance project?such as forming a promotion committee, electing union executives, and selecting key service providers like constructors or designers?in a reasonable and transparent manner. There is no separate prior application process; attendees can simply visit the lecture hall on the day of the event.
