Yeosu Gwangyang Port Corporation Wins 2024 National Empathy Management Award
In the Field of Social Contribution... Leading the Practice of 'Coexistence with the Community'
Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (President Park Seong-hyun, hereinafter YGPA) announced on the 29th that it has received the 2024 National Empathy Management Award (Social Contribution Category).
The '2024 National Empathy Campaign' is an award given to public institutions, local governments, and companies that contribute to industrial development amid fierce domestic and international environments and strive for the happiness of the people and local communities to enhance the value of the Republic of Korea. It is sponsored by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, Ministry of Employment and Labor, Ministry of Health and Welfare, and the Commission for Shared Growth.

Under the vision of 'Smart Integrated Port with the People,' Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority is promoting various projects for the development of Yeosu Gwangyang Port and the local community based on management policies of customer-first, proactive sales, safe port, and coexistence with the region.
Its achievements so far include the highest grade in the local social contribution recognition system, the best in crime prevention governance in the Korea Crime Prevention Awards, and first place in the public institution ESG evaluation.
In addition, through certifications and awards from government ministries and international organizations such as the Small and Medium Business Shared Growth Merit, Korea Sustainable Management Award, and double crown as the best port in safety and environment from the International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH), YGPA’s passion and capabilities have been recognized externally.
