This memorial ceremony was held to honor and inherit the noble spirit of patriotism and love for the nation of Samhyeokdang Kim Young-won. The ceremony solemnly proceeded in the order of a report on Kim Young-won’s biography, a memorial address, and a Cheondogyo-style memorial ritual.
Samyojeong, where the event was held, was demolished by the Japanese colonial government in 1921 because it was the birthplace of the independence movement. Imsil-gun restored it at its current location in 2012 to honor Kim Young-won’s noble will. Since the end of 2003, it has been managed as a memorial facility.
Meanwhile, the county repaired and maintained the Cheondogyo Imsil Church to preserve the historical and cultural heritage related to Samhyeokdang Kim Young-won, creating a safe and pleasant cultural heritage environment. They plan to preserve and develop this place as a living educational site for patriotism and love for the nation, honoring the achievements and spirit of the ancestors’ love for the country for future generations.
