He will participate in the 2024 Genesis Championship held on October 24 at Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea in Songdo, Incheon. This marks his return to a domestic tournament after 2 years and 5 months since the GS Caltex Maekyung Open in May 2022. It is the final event of the ‘Race to Dubai,’ which determines qualification for the DP World Tour (formerly European Tour) playoffs. Kim Joo-hyung has won 3 times on the PGA Tour, and as of the 27th, he is ranked 22nd in the world.
Kim Joo-hyung said, "There is nothing more pleasant than playing in my home country, and I am very happy and excited to participate in the Genesis Championship. I am grateful to the DP World Tour, the Korea Professional Golfers' Association (KPGA) Tour, and Genesis for giving me this opportunity." He added, "Although I mainly compete in the United States, it is enjoyable to prove my skills under various conditions by playing in different locations around the world. Since it has been a while since I last played in Korea, it will be a challenging event, but I have high expectations. I will focus on delivering a good performance."
