From Purchase and Maintenance to Brand Experience All in One Place... Kia's First Flagship Store in Wonju
Kia announced that it will officially open its flagship store in Wonju on the 28th. It is a complex hub space where customers can simultaneously view vehicles, take test drives, make purchases, receive maintenance, and experience the brand all in one place. This is the fifth store to open, following locations in Gangseo, Seoul, Incheon, Bucheon, and Gwangju.
The space integrates the existing Wonju and Shinwonju branches with the Wonju and Gangneung service centers, spanning 15,821㎡ across four above-ground floors and two basement levels. It is equipped with dedicated maintenance infrastructure for electric vehicle customers, including electric vehicle-specific maintenance lifts, a specialized high-voltage battery workshop, and a facility for storing used batteries.
In addition to a new car delivery area called the ‘Kia Pickup Lounge,’ various customer consultation spaces have been prepared. There is a virtual experience zone where customers can try out advanced driver assistance features, as well as a space where customers can virtually configure products by selecting options themselves.
To commemorate the opening, a special heritage exhibition program featuring the T-600 and the restored Brisa vehicle has been prepared. The T-600, a three-wheeled vehicle released in 1969, was designated as a national registered cultural asset in 2008. The Brisa, Kia’s first rear-wheel-drive passenger car released in 1974, is regarded as laying the foundation for Kia’s history.
By following Kia’s social media (SNS) accounts and participating in the certification event, customers can receive coffee and other items on a first-come, first-served basis, with the event scheduled for early next month. The new store operates daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and outside of operating hours, it functions as a nighttime unmanned store.
