On the afternoon of the 22nd, the Jungnang Cultural Foundation (Chairman Jo Mingu) held the ‘2024 Jungnang Seoul Rose Festival’ results report meeting at the underground auditorium of Jungnang District Office.
At the meeting, about 250 people including Jo Mingu, Chairman of the Jungnang Cultural Foundation, Kim Deokgu, CEO of the Jungnang Cultural Foundation, and Ryu Gyeonggi, Mayor of Jungnang District, gathered to discuss the results of the ‘2024 Jungnang Seoul Rose Festival,’ future festival development plans, and to collect various opinions.
During the meeting, commendations and letters of appreciation were awarded to 121 individuals who contributed to the promotion of the 2024 Jungnang Seoul Rose Festival, expressing gratitude and celebrating those who contributed to the successful hosting of the festival.
Under the slogan “The Most Beautiful Festival in Seoul,” the 2024 Jungnang Seoul Rose Festival emphasized the locality of Jungnang-gu by including ‘Jungnang’ in the festival name for the first time. The core directions were ▲ revitalizing the local economy through the operation of Jungnang Rose Week ▲ a festival led and united by Jungnang residents ▲ development of Jungnang rose culture through upgrading rose programs.
Additionally, the festival adopted three main strategies: ‘Safe Festival,’ ‘Clean Festival,’ and ‘Friendly Festival’ to enhance visitor satisfaction at the festival site.
As a result, the number of visitors increased by more than 400,000 compared to the previous year, reaching 3.03 million, with 7,323 residents and 383 local organizations participating in the festival.
The direct economic effect amounted to 24.3 billion KRW, significantly contributing to the revitalization of the local economy.
According to the 2024 festival evaluation results, the festival received positive reviews in areas such as ▲ participation of Jungnang residents ▲ local economic revitalization ▲ systematic operation and management of the festival. On the other hand, additional efforts will be made to continuously improve areas such as program enhancement.
The Jungnang Cultural Foundation announced future directions for the festival in 2025, including strengthening the historical significance of the Jungnang Rose Festival and enhancing rose and eco-friendly programs.
Jo Mingu, Chairman of the Jungnang Cultural Foundation, said, “The success of the Jungnang Seoul Rose Festival, representing Jungnang-gu, is thanks to the united preparation of Jungnang residents and related organizations. We will do our best to develop the festival into a world-class event that continues for over 100 years.”
