Smilegate to Create 'Crossfire' Animation
Collaboration with Blur Studio, Producer of 'Love, Death + Robots'
Smilegate announced on the 20th (local time) at Gamescom 2024 Opening Night Live (ONL) held in Cologne, Germany, that it is producing an animation based on 'Crossfire.'
The Crossfire animation will be produced as one of the 15 episodes of the omnibus animation 'Secret Level,' created by Amazon Prime Video in the United States and animation studio Blur Studio.
The executive producer of 'Secret Level' is director Tim Miller, known for directing 'Deadpool' (2016) and 'Terminator: Dark Fate' (2019). Tim Miller personally introduced 'Secret Level,' based on 15 global game intellectual properties, at this Gamescom. Among them, the 'Crossfire' episode will be produced as a 15-minute short animation based on the original game's universe and is scheduled to be released on Prime Video on December 10.
'Crossfire' is the only Korean game intellectual property selected as an episode of 'Secret Level.' The other 14 episodes include famous game intellectual properties such as 'Dungeons & Dragons,' 'Pac-Man,' and 'Mega Man.' 'Crossfire,' which is serviced in over 80 countries, has reached 1 billion users. The intellectual property is expanding into dramas, theme parks, movies, and esports.
