4-Ton Steel Object Falls at Gimhae Ship Parts Factory ... Worker in 50s Dies

A man in his 50s working at a ship parts manufacturing factory lost his life after being crushed by a 4-ton steel object.
According to the Gyeongnam Fire Department, at around 2:59 p.m. on the 19th, a man in his 50s, identified as Mr. A, was crushed by a 4-ton steel object that had fallen at a ship parts manufacturing factory in Hallim-myeon, Gimhae.
Mr. A suffered severe injuries to his knees and waist and was transported to the hospital in cardiac arrest, but ultimately passed away during emergency treatment.
It was determined that Mr. A, a worker for a subcontractor, was squatting on the floor working on a rudder outer plate cover when a steel object fell from a height of 1 meter above the ground, leading to the accident.
The police and the Ministry of Employment and Labor are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.
